Race Bio
I started at the age of 5 at local club race in gisborne. I started competitively racing at a race in Tauranga and was absolutely shitting myself. I wasn't straight away a natural like some of the other guys my age and took me practice to get anywhere near racing standard in New Zealand let alone. The year 2005 was the year my I decided bmx is what I wanted and loved to do. I got into the mighty 11 team and dominated all day at the trials, no one expected this, even I didn't i was blown away. I had never won that much races consecutively in one day in my whole race career. I finished up 3trd in the team and beat the Aussies, It was an experience that changed me and the way i took bmx.
2006 we moved houses and were a lot closer to the local track and that changed me as a rider. I lived at the track everyday after school until dark. Every Weekend I would be at the track. My riding improved heaps and confidence on other tracks did also.
2007 I continued to improve and I was selected to be in the NZ Junior Development Squad (JDS). This just gave me more confidence and help as a rider and could compete with other riders more confidently knowing I could do it.
start of 2008 season I never went to any races other than Gisborne meets. I was riding the track every day and won the test team trials and got captaincy of the team. We lost the series but was another huge experience which changed me and made me even more determined. We went to Nerang Nationals at the start of 2009, I wasnt racing at my best as I was blown away at the other riders but it woke me up and could see that this is where its at. I continued to improve from getting more experience from this and was selected for the High Perfomance team coached by Ken Cools.
to be continued still..........
